Peer Review Process
The Pemuliaan Hukum has a strict peer-review process to ensure the quality and validity of published research. This process is a double-blind review, ensuring anonymity for authors and reviewers. Experts in the relevant field conduct the review, assessing submissions for scientific significance, innovation, and relevance to the journal's objectives.
-
Initial Assessment: The editorial team reviews each manuscript to ensure it aligns with the journal's focus and meets publication standards. Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria or show more than 25% similarity to existing works will be rejected outright. The team also checks the format and citation style against the author guidelines. Inappropriate manuscripts will be returned for correction and resubmission. Manuscripts that have been successfully reviewed will proceed to the peer review stage.
-
Selection of Reviewers: The editorial board identifies at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the manuscript's subject area and experience in relevant research. Reviewers and authors remain unaware of each other's identities. The editorial board ensures that reviewers are from institutions different from the authors', taking into account their scientific expertise and potential conflicts of interest before extending invitations to review. The aim is to appoint reviewers within four weeks.
-
Evaluation Process: Reviewers assess the scientific accuracy, authenticity, validity, and suitability of the manuscript in their field, usually within two weeks. They offer detailed feedback to help the author improve the manuscript and suggest acceptance, revision, or rejection.
-
Editorial Decision: The editor-in-chief decides to accept, reject, or request revision based on feedback from reviewers and compliance with publication standards. If the reviewers' opinions differ significantly, additional reviewers may be consulted. The editor's decision and anonymous reviewer comments are communicated to the author. The goal is to issue the first decision within a month and publish accepted manuscripts within 4 to 8 weeks of acceptance.
-
Revision Stage: Manuscript authors who require revision must incorporate the suggested changes, submit a revised version, and include a letter outlining the feedback. The deadline for revision is two weeks for minor changes and four weeks for major changes. The initial reviewer will re-evaluate manuscripts with major revisions to ensure the revisions are effective.
-
Final Steps to Publication: Accepted manuscripts must be submitted in final form for editing and formatting before publication.
Through a rigorous peer review process, Pemuliaan Hukum publishes research that meets the highest standards of scientific integrity and quality.
