Abstract

This research aims to determine whether or not there is an influence and how much influence exposure to social media TikTok regarding the dangers of BPA-filled gallons of packaging has on the response of Communication Science students at the Islamic Nusantara University. The method used was a survey by distributing questionnaires to 182 respondents from Communication Science students at the Islamic Nusantara University. The research model is the S-R (Stimulus-Response) model. The research was analyzed using IBM SPSS version 26 statistical software. The results showed that exposure to social media TikTok about the dangers of BPA-filled gallons of packaging had an influence on the response of Communication Science students at Nusantara Islamic University. The magnitude of the influence is shown by the R2 value of 0.555 or 55.5%. It can be concluded that exposure to social media TikTok about the dangers of gallons of packaging containing BPA had an effect of 55.5% on the responses of Communication Science students at Nusantara Islamic University, while the remaining 44.5% was explained by other variables not examined in the research. Based on simple linear regression analysis, the equation Y = 17,908 + 1,391X is obtained, which means that if the TikTok social media exposure variable (X) is increased by one unit, the response variable (Y) will increase by 1,391.
