Abstract

Millennials are individuals born from 1981 to 1996, known as people who are oriented towards experience and adventure, manifested in traveling activities. For millennials, traveling is interpreted not only as a vacation, but also as a search for identity and development of one's potential. On the one hand, for millennials, traveling is used as a tool or means to escape from stressful work routines. On the other hand, traveling is also a lifestyle for millennials which is needed to develop themselves as well as gain recognition from groups and people around them. Traveling is a popular cultural practice that is packaged attractively through social media so that it dominates the imagination of millennials to travel to tourist destinations displayed in the form of photos and videos. Traveling is also a form of self-actualization for millennials because by traveling millennials are challenged to dare to get out of their comfort zone and dare to face discomfort.
