Focus and Scope

Media Justitia Nusantara (MJN) is a journal that intends to publish most quality research papers in the fields of law or criminology and social justice studies. The journal is keen to present relative overview of law, system-wide trends and problems on law, crime and justice throughout the world. Journal provides a medium for social scientists to report research findings with respect to crime and justice through innovative and advanced methodologies.

The Journal encourages in submission of articles, research notes, and commentaries and also invites papers based on empirical research, theoretical analysis and debate, and policy analysis and critique that centre on crime and broadly defined justice-related topics in an international perspective.

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Media Justitia Nusantara (MJN) is applying the double blind review process. The authors are welcome to suggest at least three potential reviewers along with name and their email address. However, the decision to determine the appropriate reviewers is right of editor. The approved gallery proof of manuscript will early view online as early as possible upon received from author and final proof reading by editor in chief.

Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not allowed. A software tool may be used so that the submitted articles are screened for plagiarism. Detection of overlapping and similar text is used there and so quotations and appropriate citations have to be used whenever required. It is basically author’s duty to only submit a manuscript that is free from plagiarism and academically malpractices. The editor, however, double checks each article before its publication. The first step is to check plagiarism against offline database by Penelitian Hukum Editorial Board and, secondly, against as much as possible online databases.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Etika Publikasi

Kode etik penerbitan ini merupakan pernyataan semua pihak yang terlibat dalam proses publikasi jurnal ilmiah yaitu pengelola, editor, mitra bestari, dan penulis (author).

Kode Etika Publikasi Ilmiah pada intinya menjunjung tiga nilai etika dalam publikasi, yaitu;

Kenetralan, yakni bebas dari pertentangan kepentingan dalam pengelolaan publikasi;
Keadilan, yakni memberikan hak kepengarangan kepada yang berhak sebagai pengarang; dan
Kejujuran, yakni bebas dari duplikasi, fabrikasi, falsifikasi, dan plagiarisme dalam publikasi

Tanggungjawab Editor;

Editor bertanggungjawab dalam memutuskan artikel yang layak dipublikasikan melalui rapat dewan redaksi. Editor dipandu oleh kebijakan dewan editorial jurnal dan dibatasi oleh persyaratan hukum yang berlaku mengenai pencemaran nama baik, pelanggaran hak cipta dan plagiarisme.
Dalam proses penerimaan artikel, tim editor berasaskan pada asas kesamaan perlakuan.
Dalam proses review jurnal dan pengambilan keputusan publikasi (artikel), tim editor tidak membedakan ras, jenis kelamin, agama, etnis, kewarganegaraan, atau ideologi politik penulis.
Editor dan tim editorial tidak akan mengungkapkan setiap informasi tentang naskah atau artikel yang masuk kecuali atas izin penulisnya.
Naskah (artikel) yang tidak diterbitkan setelah diajukan tidak akan digunakan oleh penelitian editor sendiri dan akan dikembalikan langsung kepada penulisnya.

Tanggungjawab Reviewer;

Reviewer bertanggungjawab terhadap rekomendasi arikel yang direview
Review naskah dilakukan secara obyektif, dan didukung oleh argumentasi yang jelas.
Reviewer bertanggungjawab terhadap kutipan, referensi, dan plagiarisme atas artikel yang direview.
Reviewer menjaga kerahasiaan informasi untuk keuntungan pribadi.

Tanggungjawab Penulis

Penulis harus menyajikan artikel hasil pemikiran atau penelitiannya secara jelas, jujur, dan tanpa plagiasi, dan manipulasi data.
Penulis bertanggungjawab atas konfirmasi yang diajukan atas artikel yang telah ditulis.
Penulis harus mematuhi persyaratan publikasi berupa orisinalitas karya, tidak plagiat, dan belum pernah diterbitkan di jurnal atau publikasi lain.
Penulis harus menunjukkan rujukan dari pendapat dan karya orang lain yang dikutip
Penulis harus menulis naskah atau artikel secara etis, jujur dan bertanggung jawab, sesuai dengan peraturan kepenulisan ilmiah yang berlaku.
Penulis dilarang mengirimkan/menerbitkan artikel yang sama ke lebih dari satu jurnal atau publikasi.
Penulis tidak berkeberatan jika naksah mengalami penyuntingan tanpa mengubah subtansi atau ide pokok tulisan.
