The evolution of the use of information technology in libraries is evidenced by the increasing number of libraries that include information technology as part of their library operations. The term library automation system is well known when information and communication technology is used by libraries. Library automation systems offer libraries a great opportunity to improve services in the library. The use of information technology is very significant for libraries because it aims to provide the best service and meet the increasingly complex information needs of library users. The purpose of this research is to understand the use of library automation features in the Senayan Library System "SLIMS". You will gain knowledge not only about the DISPERSIP library group, but also about existing barriers and how libraries are trying to overcome existing barriers. The data analysis method in this research is a qualitative method that uses observation and interview guidelines as data collection tools. The results of this research show that the use of the automation system at DISPERSIP Surakarta City based on SLIMS is very good, this is proven by the existence of library services that have been automated. The SLIMS used in the Surakarta City DISPERSIP library is the Bulian version or Sembilan version. Apart from utilizing the existing SLIMS functionality, SLIMS in the Surakarta City DISPERSIP library has also been modified to meet library requirements, this modification was carried out by the Surakarta City DISPERSIP librarian himself.
