Arsip memiliki peran penting dalam suatu institusi sebagai sumber informasi mapupun pusat ingatan suatu institusi. Arsip bagi satuan kerja pemerintah daerah (SKPD) berisi informasi yang berguna dalam pengambilan keputusan, sebagai alat bukti bila terjadi suatu kasus hukum, sebagai alat pertanggungjawaban, manajemen, hingga sebagai alat transparansi SKPD. Kantor UPT Dikbudpora Butuh sebagai salah satu SKPD di wilayah Kabupaten Purworejo juga melaksanakan tata kelola arsip. Saat ini tata kelola arsip lebih dikenal dengan records management. Manajemen rekod meliputi daur hidup arsip, di Indonesia daur hidup arsip terdiri dari penciptaan, pengelolaan & distribusi, penggunaan, pemeliharaan, penyusutan Mayoritas arsip yang dimiliki Kantor UPT Dikbudpora Butuh adalah arsip konvensional sehingga pengelolaan arsipnya juga masih konvensional. Meskipun pelaksanaan records management di Kantor UPT Dikbudpora Butuh masih menggunakan cara konvensional diharapkan kedepannya dapat mengimplementasikan pengelolaan arisp secara eletkronik. Seiring perkembangan teknologi informasi, maka sewajarnya setiap instansi beralih megimplementasikan pengelolaan arsip secara elektronik demi pengelolaan arsip yang lebih baik di masa mendatang.
ABSTRACT
Archives have an important role in an institution as a source of information or a center of memory of an institution. Archives for local government work units (SKPD) containing information that is useful in decision making, as evidence when a legal case occurs, as a tool of accountability, management, as a means of transparency of SKPD. The UPT Dikbudpora Butuh office as one of the SKPD in Purworejo Regency also implements archive governance. At present archive management is better known as records management. Record management covers the archive life cycle, in Indonesia the archive life cycle consists of creation, management & distribution, use, maintenance, depreciation The majority of archives owned by the Office of the UPT Dikbudpora Butuh are conventional archives so that archival management is still conventional. Although the implementation of records management in the Office of the UPT Dikbudpora Butuh to still use conventional methods, it is expected that in the future it can implement electronic arisp management. Along with the development of information technology, it is only natural that each agency switch to implement electronic records management for better archive management in the future.
