PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KEBERADAAN ANAK DENGAN DISABILITAS DI DESA KABUPATEN BANDUNG

Abstract

The problem expressed in this research is that there are still many children with disabilities who still do not receive educational services. Even though they have the same opportunity to get education. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge and attitudes of the community towards children with disabilities in Bojongsoang village, Bojongsoang district, Bandung district. This research uses a qualitative approach and descriptive methods. The research subjects were the village head who was assisted by village officials and the community, with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation study. Based on the research results it was found that; 1) There are still many people who do not understand the concept of children with disabilities, so they do not know how to handle children with disabilities, and the needs of children with disabilities; 2) There are still many children with disabilities who have not received education services; 3) Educational institutions for children with disabilities in Bojongsoang village cannot yet be accessed by them, and 4) Lack of educators who are able to handle children with disabilities.
